My practice involves psychotherapy and psychopharmacology of general psychiatric and addiction related issues, with an emphasis on the latter. The psychotherapeutic approaches are primarily cognitive – behavioral and motivational enhancement. Additionally, there is an awareness and appreciation of spirituality as it relates to recovery from depression, anxiety and addictive disorders. I use hypnosis, both direct (closed eyes) and indirect hypnotic language, to facilitate constructive belief system change. I have studied and practice Taoism and Buddhism for over 25 years and incorporate these philosophical and meditation principles when appropriate to facilitate ego strengthening and reduction in anxiety, depression and substance use.
